Review by: Marie Smith

May I say again how much I admire the writing, and the powers of organisation which you bring to the task of telling your dense and complex story. It is extremely gripping and involving. I particularly marvel at how you convey the excruciatingly uncomfortable scenes between your parents. As a child looking on it must have been gruelling and baffling for you. You have remembered it all so clearly, a sure sign that it marked you deeply. But you have transmuted these scenes into crystal clear and objective narrative.
